001-COPY-PASTE of the THF-GEBÄUDE
Date: 2022-07
Location: Tempelhof Berlin, DE

Project: The Tempelhof building has seen many activities took place: Art, sport, conference, emergency shelter, etc. have given the hangar new functions from time to time; the Tempelhof building itself is not actually empty, but is often used as a generator of urban activity.
The city of Berlin witnesses a lot of moving in and out every day, not just migrants, refugees or short term employees, but also in the context of urban renewal, the change of functions and the refurbishment of buildings. But many buildings have neither been demolished nor renewed, including even THF itself (2008-now). These moving in and out require not only money, but also time and space for turnover.
The project is providing a transit space for the “Senior” architecture and community in Berlin that need to transition. This would be made possible by the existing large span structure of the hangar and the infrastructure that exists underground.
